Tandem Ballet R&D Sharing, 10th July 2012

Tuesday 10th July, 3.15pm
Battersea Sports Centre, Hope Street, SW11 2DA.  Walking directions HERE, or meet at Clapham Junction Station, the Brighton Yard Exit at 2.20pm, to walk with a group to the venue.

A unique event to share initial R&D ideas, movement and audio, of a dance performance on tandem bikes, performed by local dancers and blind and partially sighted participants.

The Tandem Ballet R&D will explore the potential for creating a unique dance performance with blind and partially sighted people, working with dancer front riders, on tandems.

We anticipate sharing two or three sequences which will be devised using contemporary dance / post modern dance techniques as a starting point from which to evolve a unique movement vocabulary and theatrical imagery out of the participants’ experiences of cycling.

A pre-sharing, audio description introduction for blind and partially sighted audience members and audio described performance – please arrive at the venue at 2.45pm.

Access – Fully accessible venue and guide dogs welcome.  Limited transport available, please contact 07504 182375 for further information
