Alex Beech – Rehearsal Director, Skegness & Edmonton

Alex joined Bicycle Ballet as a core performer for the original show at Brighton in 2006.  As a performer she has worked with small professional dance companies, such as Lapsus Corpi, Virginia Farman and Disco Sister, Marina Collard and prang, Megan Flanighan and Henrietta Bannerman.  In live performance, site specific work and film, she has performed at Laban Theatre, The Place, Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, and Big in Falkirk Festival in Scotland.  She is now working as a performer for the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games.

Alex studied at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds and at Laban in London, and holds a BA (Hons) Degree in English from Bretton Hall, Leeds University.  She has taught at Millfield Theatre and Mount View Academy of Theatre Arts and is currently in the process of setting up a dance performance group in France.

Alex has also worked as Communications Manager for Trinity Laban, responsible for developing web and e-media strategies, creative direction for design in marketing promotion and brand management.  She has lectured in brand management at Birkbeck College, presented at the Arts Marketing Association’s Annual Conference and has had a paper published in JAM, the Arts Marketing Association’s Journal.
