Joe Wild, Performer

Joe strikes a pose on his bikeJoe is a theatre-maker, with a specialism in movement direction and pedagogy. He trained as a choreographer and dancer at Laban (BA Dance Theatre) and, as a Movement Director at the Central School of Speech and Drama (MA Movement Studies).

He has worked as a performer for Marie-Gabrielle Rotie HUMAN ZOO (Cochrane Theatre), Earthfall GRAVITAS (UK tour), Jean Abreu Dance Company INSIDE (UK Tour), Generating Company (Khalifa Stadium, Abu Dhabi) and Angela Woodhouse FINE LINE(Bonnie Bird Theatre). Joe is an Associate Artist with Freefall Theatre and has worked as co-collaborator and performer for HALF MAN / HALF CLAM, (The Arcola, New Wolsey Ipswich) *STILL POINT (The Place), NOT FOR SALE (Camden People’s Theatre; Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh Fringe).

He has a long collaborative relationship with sound Artists Solarference with whom he founded FirstPerson Theatre. With them he directed: SIAMBER WEN and HOMELIFE (Toured in Britain, Italy and Sweden). Other collaborators include Athena Vahla, and an ongoing research project with Lapsus Corpi, Efrosini Protopapa and Susanna Recchia in Germany, Italy and London. He has movement directed on several shows by Firenza Guidi in Italy, India and Wales.

Joe also works as a movement director for animation. He has taught MA charter Animation at Central St. Martins and collaborated with award winning director Vick Mather on a short film for Lulu Guinness.
